Claim made that Rush was offered “insane money” to sign a new contract with AEW

As previously noted, Rush made an announcement via Twitter that he has signed a new contract with AEW even though WWE was reportedly interested in him.

According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, the belief is that Rush’s new deal with AEW is for multiple years. It was said that Rush signed his new contract after his existing deal had just expired and CM Punk was pushing for AEW to keep him.

In regards to WWE, Meltzer was told by multiple people that the company had been interested in having him joining the NXT brand. Meltzer then noted the following…

“However, WWE never made an official offer because when they found out what AEW offered, they knew there was no way he was going to WWE. Someone in WWE called the offer ‘insane money.'”
