Bianca Belair says the recovery from her broken finger injury has been “very challenging”

As seen during WWE WrestleMania 41, Iyo Sky defeated Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair to retain the women’s world title. Bianca has been out of action since the match due to a broken finger but did provide the role of guest referee at WWE Evolution.

While speaking to SHAK Wrestling, Bianca commented on her recovery from the injury…

“It’s been very challenging, just because I wasn’t even anticipating how difficult and long this process was going to be when I broke my finger. I’ve broken fingers before playing basketball, but the way that I broke it—trying to figure out if it required surgery—made things much more complicated. I think because I wasn’t anticipating how difficult it was going to be, it has felt even harder for me. I’ve learned so much about fingers, and they’re complicated—so complicated. But honestly, I’ve used the time personally. I really did feel like I needed this break. I’ve been going non-stop for the past five years—constantly in the title picture, filming reality TV shows, making appearances. I think in one year alone, I had over 300 appearances, and there are only 365 days in a year. Mentally, I did need this break, and I’ve just been trying to use it in a personal way—to get my mental health back on track. I trained so hard for WrestleMania that physically my body needed a break from training and dieting. So, I’m using this time more as a personal reset to get myself back together.”

“It just sucks, ’cause I can’t even really sew right now. So I can’t even make gear. Not really—I can, but it’s really difficult. So, what’s going on? Because with a normal finger break, I think the recovery timetable is like four to six weeks. Mine was more complicated, because I almost needed surgery. I broke it in the joint. That was the issue—I broke it in three places, and I broke it in the joint. Right now, it is healed, it just won’t bend. And I can’t really wrestle with a straight finger, because it’ll just keep getting broken. So that’s really where we’re at right now.”
