Backstage news regarding WWE’s reaction to the 2023 NXT Battleground PLE

In regards to WWE’s reaction to the 2023 NXT Battleground PLE, Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com noted that officials were “absolutely thrilled” with how the show turned out. Some reportedly felt that Battleground was the best NXT “milestone” event in some time. Johnson added that “one source we spoke to felt it was ‘worlds ahead’ of their Wrestlemania weekend [Stand and Deliver] broadcast.”

Battleground was also well received by fans with a 9.02 overall rating on the wrestling database website Cagematch. AEW’s Double or Nothing PPV has a 6.58 overall rating.

While Battleground went head-to-head with Double or Nothing, Shawn Michaels stated during the pre-show media call that he doesn’t expect this scenario to happen again.
