Backstage news regarding Andrade being able to make AEW return so quickly after leaving WWE

During the six-year anniversary edition of AEW Dynamite, Andrade made his return to AEW. It was reported on September 13th 2025 that he had been released from WWE.

According to Fightful.com, Andrade has signed a full-time deal with AEW and it was in the works for at least a couple of weeks. In regards to Andrade being able to make his AEW return so quickly after leaving WWE, Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com noted the following…

“Multiple WWE sources confirmed to PWInsider.com that Andrade was cut due to numerous WWE Wellness violations over the last year. We are told that the decision was made to cut Andrade outright, making him free and clear to perform elsewhere. Andrade had previously been announced for independent promotions in both Mexico and The United States, so it was already obvious he wasn’t under any sort of non-compete. WWE chose to cut him as opposed to paying him another 90 days to keep him from performing elsewhere.”
