At least two AEW stars believed to be taking time off following the 2024 All Out PPV event
As seen during the 2024 All Out PPV event, Swerve Strickland lost to “Hangman” Adam Page in a “lights out” cage match that closed the show. Also on the show, MJF defeated Daniel Garcia but was laid out with an avalanche piledriver after the match.
While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com discussed Swerve’s status…
“[MJF] is taking time off. He didn’t lose but he ended up getting taken out. It’s an injury angle, he’s going to be gone for a while. [MJF] and Swerve both did injury angles, and are going to be gone for a while. I heard a long time ago that Swerve was going to sign the contract and get some time off, and this was the angle.” (quote courtesy of WrestleTalk.com)
