AJ Styles reportedly “put feelers out” prior to signing contract extension with WWE

This past week, AJ Styles posted an image of an hourglass with falling sand forming his signature “P1” logo which led to speculation about his future. In the post’s comments section, a fan wrote “the way HHH is disrespecting AJ is legit pissing me off” and Styles’ son replied with “you ain’t the only one man.”

In an update on Styles, Jon Alba of SI.com noted the following…

“Multiple sources indicated to The Takedown on SI that prior to re-signing with WWE on his most recent extension, Styles did indeed put feelers out about potential options outside of the company. Specifically, it was noted he was generating major interest on the convention circuit from promoters, and it was mentioned that the interest was mutual, and at least exploratory.”

It’s unclear if Styles had expressed interest in working for other wrestling promotions. It’s believed that Styles’ contract extension with WWE is up around February of 2026 between the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 42.
