AEW star Kota Ibushi hospitalized following match at Pro Wrestling NOAH event
At Pro Wrestling NOAH’s New Year 2024 event, AEW star Kota Ibushi had a match against Naomichi Marufuji. According to Sports Hochi, Ibushi came into the match with an injured ankle and ended up hurting his other ankle. Ibushi was able to finish the 30+ minute match but ended up collapsing in the ring afterwards.
While Ibushi was able to get to the backstage area, he was said to have called for an ambulance because he was in severe pain. Ibushi was then taken to a hospital in Tokyo for further evaluation.
NOAH Director Narihiro Takeda stated that no further information will be known until Ibushi receives an official medical diagnosis.
After the match, Kota Ibushi just couldn't stand up because he has a broken ankle and is working with it for 35 minutes
