AEW news items regarding Adam Cole’s status, Swerve Strickland’s time off, and PPV events on MAX
Here are a few AEW news items for September 13th 2024 via the Wrestling Observer Newsletter and Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com…
* Adam Cole has been out of action since announcing that he broke his ankle in three places and needed to have surgery. Cole was backstage at AEW All Out 2024 and was said to be “walking around fine.” However, there has still been no return date given for him.
* Swerve Strickland is currently taking time off from AEW following his loss to “Hangman” Adam Page at All Out. Despite the upcoming WrestleDream PPV taking place in Swerve’s hometown of Tacoma, WA, his status for the show is not certain. Meltzer was told that Swerve “might not” make an appearance.
* In regards to the Warner Brothers Discovery negotiations with AEW, Meltzer noted that “those who have knowledge of the deal have confirmed the WBD deal is done and that the PPV shows on MAX are believed in some form to be part of the deal.”
