AEW brings back gimmick from the WWE Attitude Era during 5/22/24 edition of Dynamite

As seen during the May 22nd 2024 edition of AEW Dynamite, Malakai Black defeated Kyle O’Reilly. With the win, Black built up momentum for his barbed wire steel cage match against TNT champion Adam Copeland at this Sunday’s Double or Nothing PPV.

After the match, the lights went out and then Black received a “bloodbath.” Copeland appeared on the big screen and told Black to be careful what he wished for.

Bloodbaths were commonly given to wrestlers during the WWE Attitude era by The Brood faction consisting of Gangrel, Copeland, and Christian.
