AEW beats WWE in average event attendance for the month of September
While WWE outdrew AEW in average event attendance for the months of July and September, Twitter account @WrestleTix reports that AEW turned the corner during the month of September and outperformed WWE. In September, AEW’s average attendance was 9,676 while WWE’s average attendance was 7,772. AEW’s strong September performance was led by the shows at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City and the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ.
AEW also outdrew WWE in the city of Cincinnati, OH during the month of September even though WWE’s show was at the city’s primary arena. Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted that WWE RAW on September 27th drew 5,473 fans (3,700 paid) while AEW Dynamite from September 8th drew 6,500 paid fans.
September is complete for both companies. October is shaping up to be much lower for both companies as of now.https://t.co/yRCOtL75Yu pic.twitter.com/bICofflXtS
