Cody Rhodes seemingly steps aside for The Rock to face Roman Reigns at WWE Wrestlemania 40

The February 2nd 2024 edition of WWE Smackdown ended with a scheduled promo segment between Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes and WWE Universal champion Roman Reigns. Cody came to the ring to confront Reigns and make his decision for his Wrestlemania 40 match.

Cody said he still wants Reigns’ title and wants to take everything from Reigns. However, Cody stated that he is coming for Reigns… but not at Wrestlemania. Cody then said he spoke with someone who knows Reigns well and that led to The Rock making his entrance. Rock came to the ring, shook Cody’s hand, and whispered something to him. Cody left the ring and Rock had a staredown with Reigns to end the show.
