Possible spoilers regarding the United States title picture heading into WWE Summerslam 2023

Rey Mysterio will face Sheamus, Cameron Grimes, and LA Knight during the July 21st 2023 edition of WWE Smackdown. The winner will have a match against Santos Escobar on the July 28th 2023 edition of Smackdown and the winner of that match will challenge Austin Theory for the United States title.

A United States title match taking place at Summerslam has not been confirmed. Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted that “the 7/28 final would seemingly lead into Summerslam but nine matches for the show is plenty and that U.S. title match could end up on television as well.”

Twitter account Better Wrestling Experience (@BoozerRasslin), which has leaked RAW and Smackdown plans in recent months, wrote that a “new push” for LA Knight will start after Summerslam and WWE is “heavily considering” having a babyface Latino champion on television.
