Backstage news regarding Carmelo Hayes joining the 946 faction on WWE RAW
As seen during the October 12th 2026 edition of WWE RAW, Carmelo Hayes officially joined the 946 faction. According to Twitter/X account False Finish, it was Royce Keys that asked WWE to bring Hayes to the group.
False Finish also noted the following…
“Sources tell False Finish that WWE officials are very happy with the presentation of 946 so far. Officials feel like Royce Keys and company have ‘knocked it out of the park.’ Another source noted that Carmelo Hayes has been a lock for the group since July. Hayes wrapped up his chase for the United States Championship on August 14 against Baron Corbin.”
Over the weekend, AEW’s MJF shared a photo on his Instagram Stories featuring himself and Hayes on the independent wrestling scene. The post came after Hayes “blacked out” his Twitter/X account, prompting speculation among fans about his future.
PWInsider.com reports that, contrary to online rumors, there were no discussions about Hayes leaving WWE or being released. It’s believed that his reduced presence on television was intentional to build toward the reveal. The report noted that this led fans to make assumptions and speculate about scenarios that were not actually happening.
Hayes wrote on Instagram, “The reports of my demise have been greatly exaggerated. Ain’t Nobody Safe.”
