Kevin Nash confirms that he turned down WWE’s idea to create a Scott Hall hologram

During his Kliq This podcast, Kevin Nash confirmed that WWE approached him with the idea of creating a hologram version of the late Scott Hall for a WWE Hall of Fame ceremony. Nash rejected the proposal, believing Hall would not have wanted to be represented that way.

According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, Nash had previously discussed the possibility but made it sound more theoretical than an actual proposal. Meltzer noted that WWE did approach Nash and others close to Hall to seek their approval before spending money to create the effect.

Here was the exchange between Nash and his co-host Sean Oliver…

Oliver: “One of the things that was proposed for the Hall of Fame was for them to spend money to make a hologram of Scott. And I believe, if what I hear is correct, some of the others in your group were open to it, or at least they all kind of turned to you and you were the deciding vote. It was an all-or-none situation, a Musketeer situation, and you were the thumbs down. You didn’t support that?”

Nash: “No.”

Oliver: “In general, do you find that to be in ill taste, or was it because it was Scott?”

Nash: “Well, of course, because it was Scott. I don’t think I spent 30 years of my life with Scott, and Scott wouldn’t let them do that to me. I know Scott wouldn’t let them do that to me. Scott would have been like, ‘No, Kev wouldn’t want this.'”

Oliver: “Had you been in a creative capacity and it was not Scott or anyone you were on the road with, and they said, ‘Kev, you think, like, maybe Matt Borne, Doink the Clown, is going to have a hologram of him?’ Is it just bad taste, or is it because of your connection with Scott?”

Nash: “Well, with the Scott thing, it was so fresh, too. Scott hadn’t been gone very long… I’m just saying, like, I just believe in letting people that have passed, leave [them] the f*ck alone, man. Because they don’t get a say. It’s going to be somebody that’s profiting from that image and I think that’s f*cked up.”
