News regarding Will Opsreay using Pac’s Black Arrow move during AEW Dynamite

During the September 30th 2026 edition of AEW Dynamite, Will Ospreay paid tribute to the late Pac (Benjamin Satterley) by performing the Black Arrow during his match against Ricochet. Ospreay later explained on social media that he had spent several hours practicing the move before the show, having not performed it in eight years…

“Got to the arena at 2 PM and was in the ring til doors opened practicing. I haven’t performed the Black Arrow for 8 years. Something told me this is the night I could make the jump. I threw my heart out in front of me and Ben caught it. Thank you, Pac.

Love seeing the reaction videos to the Black Arrow. Honored that I could’ve given so many people that loved Pac one last look. I hope that was the emotional release everybody needed and I’m so grateful I could’ve given that to you. No where near as good as Ben’s but that’s what made him so special. One of one. Thank you all.”

According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, Ospreay had privately decided that the Black Arrow should be the finish of the match, but he struggled to execute it during practice. Ospreay arrived at the arena, filmed a taped promo, and then worked on the move in the ring alongside Ricochet, Mike Bailey, and Kyle Fletcher for approximately four or five hours before doors opened.

Several people reportedly encouraged Ospreay to abandon the idea due to the risk of injury, while others continued to reassure him that he could pull it off. Ospreay ultimately decided to attempt the move during the match, despite being unsure whether he would successfully execute it. This seemingly explains his emotional reaction after landing the Black Arrow.

Meltzer also noted the move’s high level of difficulty, explaining that when WWE needed motion capture for difficult aerial moves in a video game, acrobatic Mexican wrestlers were brought in for much of the work. However, Pac (then known as Neville in WWE) was used to capture the Black Arrow because no one else could perform it for the project.
