Dana White issues public statement after former WWE star Jake Hager has emergency surgery
Former WWE star Jake Hager aka Jack Swagger is set to undergo further treatment following the serious eye injury he suffered while competing for Power Slap. Hager required emergency surgery after Magna’s slap left Hager with blood and fluid leaking from his eye, and Power Slap reportedly did not air a replay of the incident due to the severity of the injury.
Dana White previously described it as one of the worst injuries he has seen in UFC or Power Slap. White addressed Hager’s situation while speaking at a post-fight press conference for his Contender Series…
“Yeah, he went into emergency surgery that night, and then we’re sending him to a specialist down in Miami.
There’s lots of unfortunate things that happen in combat sports. What you do is you make sure that you do all the proper medical testing before the fight, you have the right guys there during the fight, and you take care of these kids after the fight. I mean, it’s the biggest priority for me.
Other than having great fights, the only thing I really give a sh*t about is that these kids are all safe and healthy.”
