What is being said about Nick Aldis potentially having another match in WWE

As seen during the 2026 WWE SummerSlam Saturday PLE, Nick Aldis lost to Gunther in his first official WWE match. Afterwards, Aldis was reinstated as the SmackDown General Manager.

According to WrestleVotes Radio, there is internal belief within WWE that Aldis will wrestle again following his match at SummerSlam. However, a source indicated that his next performance may not take place until 2027.

The source added that several people backstage view Aldis as being just as talented, if not more talented, than many of WWE’s regular television performers and would like to see him receive a meaningful in-ring run with the company.

While speaking to WWE Now, Aldis didn’t rule out the idea of having another match…

“I don’t know… I came in with no expectations and I came out with none. If it’s there, it’s there. [You think you have more in you?] Sure, in the right circumstances, yeah.”
