What happened with Triple H and Nick Aldis after WWE SummerSlam went off the air
As seen during the 2026 WWE SummerSlam Saturday PLE, Nick Aldis lost to Gunther in his first official WWE match. Afterwards, Aldis spoke with Paul “Triple H” Levesque and handed in his resignation as SmackDown General Manager. However, Triple H issued the following response…
“Let me just say this. I appreciate this. I appreciate how much you’re a man of your word. I also appreciate that you’re a man. Come to cross the line. You crossed the line, but we settled it the way we do in WWE. You got in the ring and you fought for what you believed in. Doesn’t matter the outcome, matters that you fought.
You’re a hell of a man, Nick Aldis. I’m proud of you, proud of what you did, proud of what you accomplished, proud of everything you did tonight.
But as for this letter of resignation, well [rips it up], I believe in what you did. You’re reinstated as a general manager of SmackDown. Lay off of Gunther, call things down the middle, and let’s get back to work.”
