JC Mateo (Jeff Cobb) comments on his run with WWE after being released
JC Mateo (Jeff Cobb) was among several WWE departures announced on April 24th 2026. While speaking to Denise Salcedo, Cobb commented on his run with WWE…
“Hulk Hogan brought me into wrestling. Seeing him was awesome. Oh my gosh, it was so cool. So, I was like, that’s what I got to do. So, you know, that’s my dream job.
It’s not everything that I thought it would be, but who am I to complain? It’s not my company.
But being able to say I was sought after, saying no to them four times and then saying yes on the fifth was a cool little notch on my belt to say that. Come in on my terms, it could have gone better.
There’s so many people I could blame, but I’m not going to do that because, you know why? I’m just going to get all angry about something I can’t control.
So, I just got to be happy about my time there. And I did take a lot of good things away from that, like a lot of great friends that I still keep in contact with. A lot of the people that I knew prior, like on the indies and New Japan, and getting closer with them because I was seeing them every week. It was all—it was great. You know, I had a fun time while I was there.
Could things have gone in a better direction? Of course. But my time there, my experiences, I’ll always cherish it.”
