United States title match added to WWE SummerSlam after Smackdown goes off the air

After the July 24th 2026 edition of SmackDown went off the air, United States Champion Trick Williams was greeting fans at ringside when he was suddenly attacked by Baron Corbin. After Corbin left the scene, Trick grabbed a microphone and addressed the crowd. Here was what he had to say…

“Look here, you big bald headed bum! Maybe where you from it’s okay to sneak a man while he ain’t looking, fight when he don’t know what’s about to happen. But where I’m from, you knuckle up, look a man face to face, and fight like a real man. So prove to me that you ain’t scared. Prove to me that you don’t belong in retirement. Prove to me that you ain’t a b*tch and you fight me one-on-one at SummerSlam.”

Corbin accepted by saying, “It’s done, and I’m taking that title. You ain’t sh*t!”
