Clearwater Police Department completes investigation into the death of Hulk Hogan

The Clearwater, Florida Police Department announced that it has completed its investigation into the death of Hulk Hogan (Terry Bollea) and determined that he died of an “attended natural death.”

The department released a 72-page report detailing the events of July 24th 2025, when officers responded to Hogan’s Clearwater home after a medical emergency. According to Hogan’s home health aide, Dana Swinton, he appeared to be doing okay earlier that morning and had been talking and eating yogurt before the incident.

Occupational therapist Justin McCamey, who had been treating Hogan for two weeks, told police that Hogan was in very poor health following recent surgeries. Hogan’s wife, Sky Daily, said he had undergone neck spinal fusion surgery about six weeks before his death, heart valve surgery three weeks earlier, and was also receiving chemotherapy for chronic lymphocytic leukemia.

After Daily called 911 saying, “My husband, it doesn’t seem like he’s breathing,” medical staff performed CPR until first responders arrived. Hogan was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Medical reports listed cardiac arrest as the cause of death and noted a history of atrial fibrillation and leukemia. A private autopsy commissioned by the family concluded Hogan died “exclusively from compelling natural disease, with no reasonable traumatic or terminal toxicologic contributions.”

After reviewing the evidence, Clearwater police found no evidence of criminal wrongdoing and thanked Hogan’s family for their cooperation with the following…

“We want to thank the family of Mr. Bollea – Sky, Nick and Brooke – and their attorney, Kevin Hayslett, for their cooperation. Their willingness to allow our investigators access to very personal information, at a time when they were grieving and struggling, was extremely helpful. We would not have had the legal justification to obtain much of the information without their cooperation.”
