Iyo Sky vs. Asuka took place at WWE Backlash 2026. Here are the highlights…

There were immediate “We want Kairi” chants when the match started. Iyo and Asuka went back and forth in the opening moments. After a few minutes, Asuka was able to gain firm control of the match. Iyo eventually made a comeback with her signature moves like the missile dropkick and Bullet Train Attack, but couldn’t put Asuka away. The two women traded blows and were both down.

The match continued to be evenly matched as they traded submissions. After the match went to the outside, Asuka tried to use the mist, but Iyo blocked it with a notebook from the announce desk. Iyo built up momentum and got Asuka back into the ring.

Iyo went for the Over the Moonsault but missed, and Asuka applied an armbar. Asuka locked in the Asuka Lock, but Iyo managed to escape. Iyo then hit the Bullet Train Attack again, followed by the Moonsault for the victory.

After the match, an emotional Asuka hugged Iyo and raised her hand.
