Hulk Hogan documentary reveals that he took dangerous amounts of fentanyl during his run with TNA Wrestling

Hulk Hogan stated in the new Netflix docuseries Hulk Hogan: Real American that he used fentanyl to manage severe physical pain during his time with TNA Wrestling following his 2009 divorce from Linda Hogan. The docuseries served as his final interview before his death in July 2025 due to a heart attack.

It was noted that Hogan joined TNA after giving up many of his assets in the divorce and needing income, but he and the company soon realized he was not physically capable of performing at the expected level, which led to his reliance on the drug.

Here is what Hogan stated about his fentanyl usage…

“I was taking 80-milligram fentanyls, two in the morning, stuffing them under my gums here… I had two 300mg patches of fentanyl on my legs and they gave me six 1500mg fentanyl lollipops to eat. I went to the pharmacy, he goes, ‘You should be dead. We have never seen a human being take this much fentanyl.'” (quote courtesy of TMZ.com)
