CM Punk comments on what led to his reconciliation with Paul “Triple H” Levesque

While speaking to the ALL THE SMOKE Unplugged podcast ahead of WWE WrestleMania 42, CM Punk commented on what led to him reconciling with Paul “Triple H” Levesque and making his return to WWE in 2023…

“We’ve had the conversations. That’s how we got to a point where I was asked, ‘Hey, what does it look like? Can we get you to come back?’

Because after a while, I reached out to Triple H. I knew he had that heart condition, and I had seen a clip of [Hulk] Hogan and the [Ultimate] Warrior. Everything we do is filmed, so what’s real, what’s not—you don’t always know. And it’s Hogan, so you don’t know what’s the truth.

But they were having this conversation, just kind of apologizing and forgiving each other. And then a couple days later, The Ultimate Warrior dies.

And it just made me realize that like this sh*t [holding a grudge] isn’t worth it and I don’t care.

Then I get a call from Nick [Khan], like, ‘Hey, we want you to come back.'”
