Backstage news regarding the Intercontinental title ladder match being booked at WrestleMania 42

Intercontinental Champion Penta will defend his title against Je’Von Evans, Dragon Lee, JD McDonagh, and Rusev at WWE WrestleMania 42 in a ladder match.

Fightful.com reports that plans for the ladder match were finalized within the past week. It’s also said that several participants were informed at the last minute ahead of RAW, where the qualifying matches were taped. On Main Event, Evans defeated Rayo Americano, Rusev defeated Otis, JD McDonagh defeated Akira Tozawa, and Dragon Lee defeated Grayson Waller.

At this time, no additional participants have been confirmed for the match although WrestleVotes stated that “there are names from AAA and Smackdown being considered.” In a video published to WWE’s social media accounts, El Grande Americano said it was “an absolute disgrace” that he wasn’t included in the lineup.
