“Road Dogg” Brian James speaks publicly about why he left his creative team position with WWE
In March of 2026, it was reported that “Road Dogg” Brian James left his creative team position with WWE. Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com noted that James “expressed his unhappiness and tendered his resignation.”
During a virtual signing, James addressed his departure…
“It was moving too fast… it was just moving too fast for me. We talked about my brothers and their grandkids, and I didn’t get to spend a whole lot of time with mine, so I’m going to do more of that now.”
James also commented on the WWE: Unreal series…
“As an old-timer, I think we always feel that way [that it exposes the business too much]. But look, if there’s an idea behind it, in my opinion, it’s an on-ramp or an exit ramp into the actual episodic television show. And I don’t know if there’s a metric that can tell you whether that works or not.”
