Former WWE star says Carmelo Hayes “got screwed” at SmackDown

As seen during the March 27th 2026 edition of WWE SmackDown, Sami Zayn defeated Carmelo Hayes to capture the WWE United States title. Zayn will now defend his championship against Trick Williams at WrestleMania 42.

Former WWE star Baron Corbin (Tom Pestock) commented on the finish with the following messages via Twitter/X…

“Just my opinion but Carmelo got screwed. He deserves a mania match!! Him and Ilja made that title matter again! Shit give me Ilja vs Trick Williams vs Melo at mania”
