Clarification on Santos Escobar’s status with WWE amid internet speculation

At the AAA Rey de Reyes event on March 14th 2026, Santos Escobar lost a fatal four-way final to El Grande Americano. Escobar trended on Twitter/X as fans speculated about his condition during the match.

In an update on Escobar, BodySlam.net noted the following about him being on WWE’s Alumni page…

“Sources indicate to Bodyslam that Escobar is still with WWE and expected to continue in a program with El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. for the AAA Latin American Championship on AAA TV. Escobar has been in the alumni section since his contract expired back in October before re-signing with WWE a day later. WWE’s social team just never moved him back to the active roster page.”
