Stephanie Vaquer’s message on International Women’s Day: “He is still free, but I am still alive”

For International Women’s Day 2026, WWE women’s world champion Stephanie Vaquer posted the following message to her Instagram followers…

“This Women’s Day, a huge hug to all women, especially those who, like me, spoke up and reported despite fear and threats. He is still free, but I am still alive, and I will keep fighting for the truth and justice until the end.”

On March 4th 2023, Stephanie filed a criminal complaint accusing former boyfriend El Cuatrero of domestic violence, alleging he choked her and threw her against a wall. On March 9th of that year, CMLL released a statement condemning violence against women and reaffirming its commitment to a safe environment. The following day, after an AAA show in Aguascalientes, Cuatrero was arrested on a Mexico City warrant and charged with attempted femicide and domestic violence. He was denied parole in June 2024 but was released in March 2025 while prosecutors in Mexico City continue the case.
