Lyra Valkyria broke down backstage after her WWE SummerSlam 2025 match didn’t go as she planned

As seen during the 2025 WWE SummerSlam PLE, Becky Lynch defeated Lyra Valkyria to retain the women’s Intercontinental title in a NoDQ match. During season two of WWE: Unreal, an emotional Lyra commented on the match not going as she planned…

“Honestly, everything up to now has been so amazing. But you know, when you… This is everything. So when it doesn’t… When you don’t feel the magic or whatever, this is the first time I’ve felt this way. So you want me to be real? That’s as real as I can be right now. Sometimes just anything that can go wrong does go wrong. Especially when you’re using weapons and stuff and you got one take and all this. It’s not a movie. We don’t go out and rehearse stuff like actors and stuntmen and all this. It just doesn’t go the way you see it in your head. It’s just what happens sometimes.

I think this happens to everyone at some point, and the only way you can really judge a talent is on what they do after afterwards, how they handle that. They don’t do this, let me tell you. You can feel it in the moment, then you just have to pick up and move on because we’ve always got raw on Monday. We’ve always got the next big show, and no one ever has the perfect streak, and you have to just get knocked down and get back up again. So I got RAW on Monday. I’m going to have to just f*cking get back up and be okay. Anyway, that’s about as real as I can be and as much as I can say right now. So I’m going to go eat a cookie or something.”

Despite Lyra’s feelings, John Cena came up to her after the match and said the following…

“That sh*t with the chair. There’s no f*cking way I’d ever say yes to that. That shit was violent and brutal. And we got Bayley back in the fray, and now it’s mixed emotions and shit. It’s way better than you think.”
