MR. TITO: WWE/TKO Needs to Address Toxic Allegations Made by Becky Lynch and Bret Hart

During my 10/26/2025 column, I wrote that I had “nothing left in the basement” and wouldn’t write “unless a massive story brings me back”. Well, today is one of those days… What Bret “the Hitman” Hart and Becky Lynch just said should be taken very seriously by WWE, TKO, and the lawyers for both Vince McMahon and Janel Grant. If I were WWE and TKO, I’d immediately hold meetings with Hart and Lynch, ramp up internal investigations, and communicate with WWE signed talent about what they could say publicly.

In case you missed it…

Here is what Becky Lynch recently said on a podcast:

”At the time it was, ‘Stay away from the boys. Don’t go near the boys.’ But it was certain things, like—I’m not going to name names, but there was a guy on the main roster who was like, ‘Be careful. Be careful, because one, he’ll try to sleep with you. If he sleeps with you, then he’ll blacklist you. And then if he tries to sleep with you and you don’t sleep with him, he’ll also blacklist you.’ So there was this line that you had to walk—this tightrope. You know, him definitely. But anyway, at one point, he got my number, and I remember being like (gasps). Like, how do you walk this line, you know what I mean? Like not trying to — anyway. So there was always this thing of like, cuz if you get into a relationship and things go south, they’re not going to fire the guy. They’re always going to fire the girl, you know. So, it was a very scary situation.”

And here is what Bret “the Hitman” Hart said during an interview:

”When Shawn was in the ring talking about, you know he lost some part of himself or he was going to go find his smile [1997 segment]. I remember Vince had the tear rolled down his cheek and I remember watching it and going, ‘I think there’s more going on here between these two guys.’ Honestly. I’m just being honest and blunt, but I don’t know. I suspected and now I really have serious [feelings] I think that Shawn and Vince were sleeping with each other. I think I’m very close to the truth here. Shawn and Vince were lovers. I’m being dead honest and I’m telling you we all know what the H stands for. When I look back it’s like I got caught between two lovers, you know, and I got shafted and screwed over and Shawn was so envious and jealous of my position that he finally had to sleep with Vince to get it. I say all this with absolute- I would say it to Shawn if he was right here. I would say I would actually like to have Shawn come clean and say, ‘Look, we were lovers.’ Cuz I’m sure they were. I have absolute 100%. If I saw either Vince or Shawn here, I would say ‘I think you guys were lovers.”

First and foremost, both Becky Lynch (current WWE performer) and Bret Hart (WWE Legends contract) are in the WWE ecosystem. For both of them to express their opinions or tell stories like this publicly should SHOCK WWE and TKO’s management to its core right now, especially light of the Vince McMahon lawsuit with Janel Grant. Grant is suing Vince, WWE, and TKO (owner of WWE) for Vince McMahon/WWE reneging on their Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) payments and in doing so, made many personal and sexual details public. This led to Vince McMahon resigning as TKO Board Chairman and selling the majority of his TKO shares.

Janel Grant’s lawyers could easily challenge, through discovery, the context of what Bret Hart was saying and especially what Becky Lynch was saying because it’s more recent. Furthermore, because Shawn Michaels is still employed with the WWE and with a prominent position, what is his opinion on what Bret Hart has alleged here. Furthermore, it’s not just Bret who has alleged this… Road Warrior Hawk, King Kong Bundy, and others have said similar things on-the-record about Vince and Shawn Michaels.

Go back to the mid-to-late 1990s… WWE was just through the steroid trials of 1994 and had a zero tolerance policy for drugs. Various other wrestlers were busted for substance abuse, including Scott Hall and Sean Waltman, but NEVER Shawn Michaels who was clearly “out of it” during the mid-to-late 1990s. When you get into 1997 and 1998, Triple H is literally his caretaker and has to help Shawn Michaels get dressed in the morning because HBK was so stoned or hung over. Yet, WWE never busted Shawn for any substance abuse even though it was quite suspected by the locker room. Could Vince McMahon taken advantage of a drugged up HBK, and maybe that is the genesis of heavily self-medicating?

This is the quid-pro-quo culture that has been alleged for years in the WWE. In fact, the WORST NDA case was for $7.5 million to one female wrestler during the mid 2000s who alleged that Vince McMahon was offering a push of her character if she performed oral sex on him. After she did the deed, no push was awarded but Vince wanted more sexual favors instead. It’s like in Empire Strikes Back when Darth Vader alters the deal in Cloud City… Janel Grant received multiple promotions in the WWE corporate offices for increased sexual favors with Vince McMahon.

Credit to the Stevie Richards Show for this quote… Ex-UFC Fighter Chael Sonnen alleged that there were “8 women and 3 men” regarding sexual encounters with Vince and Chael knew 10 of them personally. If true, YIKES, but it shows the lengths of which Vince McMahon COULD go with his own sexual fantasies and lust for power. After all, Vince was reportedly abused as a child and that could have mixed up his head sexually which could explain all of the cheating behind Linda’s back and desire to control his WWE employees through satisfying his own carnal needs.

With Bret’s comments, it could be just pure speculation and also just “bitter” Bret upset with Vince McMahon for his recent revelations while also being pissed at Shawn Michaels for being such a close friend, still, with Triple H. Bret Hart has absolute hatred for Triple H, as it’s likely that the two have never patched up their heat from Survivor Series 1997 in Montreal. If you watch the film Wrestling with Shadows, you’ll see Triple H lying directly to Bret Hart’s then-wife about being involved in the screwjob conspiracy. While Shawn Michaels has later apologized to Bret’s face, Triple H never has and him lying to a family member made it personal. Hence why Bret is always crapping on Triple H and possibly throwing feces on Shawn by association.

Becky’s comments should be taken very seriously by WWE, unless she was just ribbing Seth Rollins as the guy with a false reputation when she joined. Seeing Seth laugh during her comments makes me wonder if she was joking or not, though her tone makes it seem serious.

Seth and Becky began dating during early 2019. Unless she was referring to the reputation that Seth had, the timeframe for this would be April 2013, when she signed with WWE to join NXT, through early 2019. She was warned about said person by a main roster employee, but she didn’t specifically state where that one “of the boys” was located. I’m guessing that by referring to them as “boys”, that’s referring to a wrestler rather than 2 known WWE executives accused of inappropriate behavior with Vince McMahon and John Laurinaitis. Others have suggested Michael PS Hayes, who was named in the Grant lawsuit (like Brock Lesnar, Vince may have shared texts or offered Janel to them), or Kevin Dunn who wasn’t named in the Grant lawsuit but is an alleged horndog backstage (and retired abruptly from WWE during 2024).

She did not use past tense for who one of the “boys” could be, if it’s a wrestler… Many are thinking that it’s a departed WWE wrestler, but it could be a current roster wrestler. There are so many wrestlers coming and going from 2013 through 2019 that it’s difficult to pinpoint. You need to find someone who is very sexually active with fellow WWE employees AND who has pull with management (or at least favorable with Vince). I could play the speculation game all day, but I’d hate to fingerpoint and be wrong.

And with it happening in the past, there’s a chance that said person could have been dealt with and punished already for it?

But I think that Becky Lynch should have a few meetings in TKO’s Human Resources department ASAP. Then, if it was something enabled or tied with Vince McMahon, this could become a legal matter for WWE and TKO.

With Bret’s comments, though, I think WWE should part ways with Bret Hart and never have him back for anything WWE UNLESS, say, Shawn Michaels comes clean and vindicates what Bret says. That is a dark accusation to make and if true, that vindicates the many victims who have accused Vince McMahon for bad quid-pro-quo behavior and demands for elevating positions in the company. Furthermore, an admission of Vince McMahon being a bi-sexual would explain may harassment claims throughout the years and the cover-up of certain other scandals during the 1980s and early 1990s that were alleged.

THIS is why, as a functioning publicly traded corporation, policies are needed to stop employees from freely speaking their minds. I’ve worked for multiple corporations and their policies clearly state to be careful what is ever said to the media and what is posted on social media. If I said what Bret Hart just said about any employee alleged relationship to the media, I’m 100% terminated while I’m sure that I’d be in hot water for speaking out about something similar to what Becky said. Bret and Becky have merchandise sales and brands behind them as leverage to speak freely, but in my opinion, WWE could move on from both. Bret is a legend, but an older one who is only useful for appearances. While Becky is still good inside the ring, I don’t know if she’s as effective as she once was.

The one I worry about is Shawn Michaels, who has a loving family and has worked hard for his current WWE position. If this isn’t true, he should SUE Bret Hart for defamation and Vince McMahon should as well. If both Shawn and Vince are silent, they would have to hope that everyone just laughs at “bitter old” Bret versus assuming that it’s true because Vince and Shawn didn’t sue. I’d still sue Bret just to prevent him from accusing further, along with stomping out any future accusations.

The FACT, though, is that WWE’s culture has been toxic for 40 years since Vince McMahon Jr. took it over… While it has entertained us as fans through many great memories, the behind-the-scenes view hasn’t been pleasant for WWE between Vince McMahon’s sexual antics, harassment and assault claims, steroid use and alleged distribution, not caring about concussions, covering up the abuse of women, hiding scandal payouts within the corporate books, quid pro quo allegations, alleged trafficking of women, and whatever else that WWE corporate executives may have known and enabled. This environment makes what Bret and Becky say believable, especially if their words stand without any debate.

If what Bret is saying can be proven true, then that deepens the Janel Grant case and makes me question what the hell the Department of Justice was looking at when they closed their case. However, if Bret is just speculating without any proof, then WWE should terminate his WWE Legends deal and end their relationship forever due to this baseless accusation and Vince/Shawn should consider suing Bret for defamation.

If what Becky is saying is true, unless she’s just ribbing Seth for his alleged reputation, then again, Janel Grant’s lawyers should push discovery into such allegations. WWE’s legal team and human resources department need to speak with Becky ASAP. Then, consider releasing a statement or exerting punishment towards said wrestler if they still remain with WWE.

Bret and Becky speaking freely with damning accusations are signs of a LEAKY corporation without fear of punishment. Goes to show that while TKO is good at making money, they aren’t good keeping people loyal to their company. And that spells trouble down the road for them, as leaky boats eventually sink.

Messy, messy, messy and now thanks to this, wrestlers are probably going to be told by WWE/TKO to be more buttoned up on interviews with media.
