Change made during WWE SmackDown due to Jacob Fatu reportedly having a non-wrestling related injury
Jacob Fatu has been involved in a feud with Drew McIntyre and the two men were scheduled to have a match on the October 17th 2025 edition of WWE SmackDown. However, Bodyslam.net reports that Fatu is dealing with a non-wrestling related injury that is expected to keep him out of action for an extended period of time — possibly “well into 2026.”
During SmackDown, Fatu was scheduled to make his entrance, but a mystery attacker ambushed him backstage. Equipment was dropped onto Fatu, leaving him on the ground with blood visible and several teeth knocked out.
The show ended with an impromptu match between Drew McIntyre and WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, which concluded when Cody was disqualified for using the WWE title as a weapon.
