Evans went right after Briggs when the bell rang, and the fight spilled to the floor. While favoring his hip, Evans managed to build up momentum by sending Briggs into the steps and using his high-flying offense. However, Briggs was soon able to slow down Evans with his power. Briggs largely dominated Evans for a few minutes, sending him into the ringside barricade. Evans barely beat the referee’s ten count. Briggs slapped Evans, which only fired him up, and Evans got “bouncy” with multiple kicks. He then came off the top with a frog splash, but Briggs kicked out.

Briggs regained the upper hand with a blow to the back of Evans’ head. Evans tried to fight back, but Briggs maintained control. When Evans went for a springboard move, Briggs caught him and delivered a chokeslam.

Briggs nailed Evans with a clothesline from hell, but Evans got his foot on the rope. Briggs went for another chokeslam, but Evans countered into a cutter. Evans then hit a cutter from the top rope to secure the pinfall victory.
