Drew McIntyre joins the cast of upcoming film that includes former WWE champion Dave Batista
According to Deadline.com, Drew McIntyre has joined the cast of Amazon MGM Studios’ Highlander reboot, playing Angus MacLeod, the brother of Henry Cavill’s character. The film, directed by Chad Stahelski, also stars Russell Crowe, Marisa Abela, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, Max Zhang, and fellow WWE champion Dave Batista.
Written by Michael Finch, the reboot is based on the 1986 classic about immortal warriors battling across time. Production, delayed due to Cavill’s training injury, is set to begin in early 2026. The project is being produced by UA, Neal H. Moritz, Stahelski’s 87Eleven, and Davis Panzer Productions, with rights secured to potentially launch a new series.
