Rumor killer regarding Adam Copeland’s status with AEW following angle at the 2025 All Out PPV event

As seen during the September 24th 2025 edition of AEW Dynamite, footage was shown of Adam Copeland and Christian Cage following their match against FTR at the All Out PPV event. Copeland addressed FTR’s attack on his wife Beth by stating the following to Christian…

“I can’t keep doing this. I can’t — it’s affecting my family, and this isn’t the first time it’s happened before. I can’t keep doing this to them. I can’t. It’s my family. I have to go, man. I don’t know if I’m going to come back.”

This led to internet speculation that Copeland will be returning to WWE to have a match against John Cena. However, Copeland remains under AEW contract for the foreseeable future and based on his previous comments from April of 2025, his deal won’t expire until well into 2026 at the earliest.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, it’s believed that Copeland has been written off television so he can work on the third season of Disney’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Copeland will reprise his role as the character of Ares.
