Backstage news regarding Joe Hendry’s future with TNA Wrestling amid WWE rumors

As seen during the September 16th 2025 edition of WWE NXT, Bobby Roode suggested that former TNA Wrestling world champion Joe Hendry focus on the NXT title. Following the event, Jon Alba of SI.com noted the following…

“Multiple WWE and TNA sources tell The Takedown on SI that Hendry is in the process of being largely phased out of TNA programming and integrated more into WWE TV. The internal expectation across people in both companies is that he will be WWE-bound on a full-time basis by the beginning of 2026.”

Hendry, who appeared at the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 41 as TNA champion, is reportedly still under a TNA contract for the time being. Despite this, Alba was told that fans should expect to see more of Hendry on NXT television.
