Andrade’s departure from WWE was reportedly “not a mutual decision”

After being moved to the Alumni section of WWE’s website, it was reported that Andrade is no longer working for the company. In an update on the story, Jon Alba of SI.com noted the following…

“Sources indicate to The Takedown on SI that Andrade was effectively released by the company, and that the departure was not a mutual decision. He had not been backstage at TV tapings for nearly a month, and multiple talent were being told Saturday afternoon that the 35-year-old had been let go.”

While it isn’t known if Andrade requested his release, the belief is that his departure was not related to budget cuts. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com also stated that Andrade’s departure was “isolated and isn’t a part of a wave of releases.”

After the news broke, AEW star MJF wrote the following message via Twitter/X…

“Yo @AndradeElIdolo, Ima be in Mexico beating the ever loving shit out of Mistico @CMLL_OFICIAL infront of all your broke ass country men. Lmk if you wanna grab a marg before I hope on my jet to Toronto to whoop mark briscoes hillbilly ass.”
