Former WWE and AEW star Jake Hager announces that he is “getting out of wrestling”

The AEW contract of Jake Hager expired in the spring of 2024. While appearing on Saraya’s podcast, Hager commented on what he has been up to since leaving AEW…

“I’m getting out of wrestling. I can pretty much say I’m retired from it. I started a trucking company, running routes through Tampa and Florida. I’m not driving — not me. I got people driving. I’m excited. It’s something to sink my teeth into. You know, hard work always pays off.”

After finishing his time as Jack Swagger in WWE, Hager made his AEW debut on October 2nd 2019 during the first episode of Dynamite. Hager was aligned with Chris Jericho for most of his run. Hager’s last AEW match was a loss to Roderick Strong on the February 23rd edition of Rampage.
