WWE reportedly has no plans for Alberto Del Rio following his departure from the AAA promotion
Former WWE star Alberto Del Rio lost a match to El Mesias in AAA on July 25th and per the stipulation, he must “leave” the promotion. This has led to speculation about Del Rio’s future in the wrestling business.
Fightful Select noted that according to sources within WWE, there are no plans for Del Rio in WWE and he is believed to be legitimately done with AAA. Despite these claims, it is expected that Del Rio will make efforts to return to either AAA or WWE.
One person was quoted as saying the following…
“If we wanted Alberto at all, much less in the Royal Rumble, he’d be here… [There is] never any difference or change to his status.”
