News regarding when Kenny Omega could be making his official return to AEW television

AEW star Kenny Omega had been dealing with diverticulitis over the past several months but is set to make his return to wrestling. Omega is scheduled for his in-ring comeback at NJPW’s Wrestle Dynasty PPV event on January 5th 2025 when he faces Gabe Kidd.

As far as Omega’s AEW comeback goes, a teaser video aired during the December 18th 2024 edition of Dynamite. Fightful.com is reporting that according to sources within AEW and those close to Omega, there has been talk of his official return to the company happening by the World’s End PPV on December 28th 2024. It was also noted that “internal discussion” had taken place regarding Omega coming back at AEW Full Gear in November but it was never a “firm plan.”

Omega’s match against Kidd was reportedly made with the approval of AEW President Tony Khan with it being viewed as a “good gesture” towards their partner NJPW.
