Results of Cody Rhodes vs. Kevin Owens at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 14th 2024

Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Kevin Owens for the Undisputed WWE Universal title took place at the WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 14th 2024. Here are the highlights…

* Jesse Ventura joined Michael Cole and Pat McAfee on commentary for the match. Cody came to the ring with the classic “Winged Eagle” WWE championship.

* Owens immediately retreated to the outside. Cody delivered a suicide dive to Owens but then started selling his ankle. Owens gained the upper hand by using Randy Orton’s slam to Cody on the announce table.

* Back in the ring, Owens mocked Dusty Rhodes’ elbows which fired up Cody. The two ended up outside of the ring again and Cody gave Owens an RKO on the announce table.

* Cody got back in the ring and hit a springboard cutter but Owens kicked out. Owens regained control with a finisher’s buster. Owens went for a stunner but the referee accidentally got knocked down. Owens was able to hit Cody with a stunner but there was no referee to make the cover. A second referee ran down but Cody kicked out. The second referee was then taken out accidentally by Cody.

* Owens tried to use a steel chair but Cody took him down with a cutter. Cody then gave Owens the Cross Rhodes onto the chair and the recovered referee counted out Owens.
