Speculation regarding John Cena’s creative direction for WWE Wrestlemania 41
As seen during the 2024 WWE Money in the Bank PLE, John Cena announced that he plans to retire from wrestling in 2025. Cena is expected to be part of Wrestlemania 41 and there have been various rumors regarding his match.
Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s status for Wrestlemania 41 has not changed and plans for a match haven’t been confirmed. If Rock doesn’t wrestle or has a match against Roman Reigns, Meltzer speculated that WWE Champion Cody Rhodes could potentially have a match against Cena instead…
“They also could do Rhodes vs. Cena with the idea of Cena in his last attempt at winning the title can break Flair’s fictitious 16 number that in WWE history he and Cena are tied at. We do know that the idea of Cena challenging one of the two champions, in an effort to have him break [Ric] Flair’s record is something strongly talked about, including for Mania.”
