WWE Smackdown rumored to become a three-hour show starting in January of 2025
WWE Smackdown officially moved to the USA Network for the September 13th 2024 edition and RAW is scheduled to move to Netflix from USA in January of 2025. During the first edition of WrestleVotes Radio on the Backstage Pass Pateron page, the following was said in regards to Smackdown’s future…
“Before we move off of SmackDown, our first real WrestleVotes tidbit here, as we get going on this backstage pass regarding SmackDown, is that we have learned that starting on the January 3 show 2025, Smackdown will indeed shift to three hours. The other big news here is there are rumors that once the show ends, it will be available on Netflix, which we haven’t heard elsewhere. Those are the internal talkings right now is that probably the day after Smackdown will be available on Netflix. But the real nugget here is that starting January 3, that show will be three hours.” (quote courtesy of WrestlingNews.co)
Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted last week that a move to three hours wasn’t expected but there would be “an easier path to move Smackdown to three hours if they wanted to“ now that the show is back on the USA Network.
