What is believed to be the inspiration for Jon Moxley’s new creative direction in AEW

As seen during the August 28th 2024 edition of AEW Dynamite, the returning Jon Moxley said this is not your company anymore to announcer Tony Schiavone. In a later backstage segment, Moxley was aligned with Marina Shafir.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline.com commented on the inspiration for Moxley’s new creative direction in AEW…

“I actually know the movie he watched… Romper Stomper, Australian cult classic, 1992. He was playing Russell Crowe in what he was doing. I’m not making this up. That’s a scoop for ya.”

In the 1992 movie, actor Russell Crowe plays the leader of a neo-Nazi group in Melbourne, Australia. Crowe’s character said the following line in one of the film’s scenes…

“I’m gonna tell you something. I want you to listen to me, okay? This is not your country.”
