Cody Rhodes’ opponent for the 2024 WWE Bash in Berlin PLE officially confirmed

During the August 9th 2024 edition of WWE Smackdown, Undisputed Universal champion Cody Rhodes spoke to Kevin Owens. Cody said he wanted to face Owens for the title at the Bash in Berlin PLE.

Owens said he appreciated the offer but felt that he hadn’t earned a title match and turned it down. Cody stated that he was still going to speak to General Manager Nick Aldis and make the match official.

Backstage, Owens told Aldis what he said to Cody. When Aldis brought up that he was considering Roman Reigns for the match, Owens got upset and said anyone is the locker room was more deserving than Reigns. Aldis ended up picking Owens as Cody’s challenger and Owens finally agreed to the match.
