Update on Natalya’s status with WWE amidst reports of her contract expiring

Over the weekend, it was reported by PWInsider.com that Natalya “locked in her new deal” with WWE following reports of her contract being close to expiring. According to Fightful.com, Natalya signed an extension with WWE in late June shortly before her previous contract expired.

Fightful noted that discussions between WWE and Natalya started in May. Natalya reportedly wanted the ability to continue working on various outside projects including a potential Hart Family film. While there was said to have been interest from outside WWE, most expected her to stay with the company. When WWE learned that losing Natalya was a real possibility, the company worked to sign her before she became a free agent.

The belief is that Natalya’s new deal is for multiple years.
