News regarding WWE’s April 2024 round of talent releases including Jinder Mahal

It was announced on Friday night that multiple WWE wrestlers were released from the company including Jinder Mahal, Xia Li, Xyon Quinn, Sanga, and Veer. According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, the belief is that there are no additional WWE releases expected at this time.

Johnson noted the following…

“The word among talents is that the calls to those who were cut were very different from the past. We are told that the calls were far less curt and more apologetic and respectful towards the talents than they had been under previous Talent Relations regimes.”

There was said to have been great sympathy for Mahal and Xia as both were reportedly well-liked backstage.

Chelsea Green publicly commented on Xia’s release with the following message via Twitter/X…

“Xia is one of my favourite people. We bonded at the performance center immediately ♥️ I’m sad to see her go, but she’s one of the most driven people I know. It’s only up from here!!”

Mahal replied with, “Am I chopped liver ?”
