Update on Seth Rollins’ outburst towards CM Punk at the end of WWE Survivor Series 2023

As previously noted, Seth Rollins flipped off the returning CM Punk and yelled “f*ck you” at the end of the 2023 WWE Survivor Series PLE. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com noted the following about the situation…

“Backstage in Gorilla position, we’re told that Seth Rollins had to be ushered away by Triple H and Michael Cole, as he was not happy about Punk’s appearance. Punk was said to have looked confused by it. At least to people in the area, it was said to be an awkward scene. Obviously because of the nature of pro wrestling, and what we report on, it could possibly be a work.”

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com addressed the matter…

“That was 100% angle because, playing off the fact that months ago when somebody asked Seth Rollins, it’s like, ‘he’s a cancer, we don’t want him.’ Later, by the way, he said, ‘if the company wants him, and it’s the right thing,’ he doesn’t have a problem with it. But because he made that statement, they figured they could do a shoot angle with it. And it makes sense.” (quote courtesy of WrestlingNews.co)

In one video of Rollins’ outburst, he appeared to have said the following to an official…

“All I’m saying is he better get the f*ck outta by the time I get back there, I’m gunna knock him the f*ck out!”
