Update on CM Punk and WWE leading into the 2023 Survivor Series PLE in Chicago
As previously noted, CM Punk reportedly wanted to make a WWE return but the company “turned him down” and he’s not expected to be back for now. It was also said that things could still change between Punk and WWE.
In an update on Punk leading into the 2023 Survivor Series PLE in Chicago, insider Twitter/X account Boozer aka Better Wrestling Experience #BWE wrote the following…
“Punk was recently scheduled for a call with few board members. Backstage feeling is its happening. Doesn’t mean its done. I am waiting for the follow up on the call. It should be the last step before things go down. Now pace yourselves. Those few weeks will be ruckus. Lots of teases on TV and social. They will milk it like crazy. So enjoy it until I get a solid answer.”
When a user wrote that they refuse to believe the deal isn’t already done, BWE noted the following…
“It could be. And I could be mislead to hype the story. I trust this specific source.”
Punk has continued to tease his future plans during his MMA commentary appearances. Earlier this week at Cage Fury Fighting Championship, one of Punk’s broadcast partners said “Total Nonstop Action” while another had a WWE logo in his jacket.
