Plans have apparently changed for a match that was rumored for WWE Summerslam 2023

In June of 2023, it was reported that there were plans in the works to reform the DIY tag team which consists of Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano. At the time, it was rumored that the team would be challenging Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens for the WWE tag team titles at the 2023 Summerslam PLE.

It now appears that the match won’t be happening at Summerslam. Twitter account BWE (Better Wrestling Experience) tweeted that the DIY reunion is “jinxed” and there is a now a “different route” for Summerslam. BWE added that it was not a Vince McMahon call and Gargano is still not cleared to return from injury.

According to BWE, Owens and Zayn will still “100%” be on the Summerslam card.
